![]() Kamen Rider Fourze’s Powers are derived from Cosmic Energy which has been focused into little gadgets known as Astroswitches, and every four Astroswitches are given a specific Module Basement Symbol which ensures the only go in a certain slot on the Fourze Driver. The Popular Tokusatsu Action Drama show Kamen Rider Fourze also uses the symbols of the Playstation controller, O X Tri Squ but there is a meaning behind it. There’s just a certain someone who has a tendency of hitting the nail on the head. In short… every major game company has brought something new and innovative to the controller business. ![]() It has everything good the 360 does (except colored buttons, boo hoo) while also making it slimmer, lighter, less bulky overall, and it even has a good control pad. The former is something altogether new and innovative, while the latter is like the truly perfected version of the 360 controller. So Nintendo stepped back in, said “Dude, I got this” and made the Wii U Gamepad and Wii U Pro Controller. It was nearly perfect but was overall just too bulky and had an awful control pad. So Microsoft made the XBox 360 controller that perfected the layout and buttons. Sony then took Nintendo’s ideas and ran with it, improving on the analog stick with the dual-analog concept (PS2). Nintendo created the first few truly great ones that introduced the control pad (NES), shoulder buttons (SNES), and analog stick (N64). Obviously until they’re released I’ll not be able to trully say which is my favourite and even though i’m not particularly looking forward to either, I just think that Move will suit me a little bit better than Microsoft’s version. Kinect does look interesting but it kind of reminds me of an updated version of that old arcade game Police 24/7, which was truly awful. This is why I personally think Move will be the better of the 2, as it’s simply a more advanced and more responsive version of what everyone is already used to. They appeal to the mass market and are easy to pick up for the more causal gamers out there and provide a decent amount of responsiveness. In these circumstances, games such as these fell broken and wrong.Īs for Move and Kinect…it’s surprising that so many opinions have been formed on these peripherals considering barely anyone has had the priviledge of trying them out.ĭespite not liking it myself myself, i think the Wii remotes work. It’s when you try playing games like Street Fighter, Tekken, PES or any game were you might prefer to use the D-Pad on the xbox that you realise it just isnt compatible. FPS for example are arguably better when using the 360 version but that’s not to say they arent as immersive and responsive vis the PS3’s pad. It’s a matter of opinion whether or not the 360 controller or any previous controllers are better but the way I look at it is, are there any games out there that feel broken when in the hands of a playstatiuon controller? No. Saying that though, at this moment in time, there is not a single game out there that the playstation controller doesnt suit. I have no doubt however that in times to come, games will get even more sophisticated and “control pads” as we know them will be a thing of the past. There’s a very basic reason the controller has barely evolved in 15 years, it’s perfect. I get that it works, and you shouldn’t fix what isn’t broken, but it’s not really moving forward either, and biases aside, I think Xbox has surpassed them in controller comfort. ![]() I’ve liked the design of the Playstation controller, but it seems like the company is absolutely terrified to do anything different, keeping essentially the same design for the better part of fifteen years. People thought those colors were mixed up, and I had to reinforce to management that that’s what I wanted.įunny, as none of those buttons currently have anything to do with any of that, and actually X is usually “yes” and O is usually “back” or “no” when selecting things in a game. ![]() The circle and X represent ‘yes’ or ‘no’ decision-making and I made them red and blue respectively. Square refers to a piece of paper I had it represent menus or documents and made it pink. The triangle refers to viewpoint I had it represent one’s head or direction and made it green. I gave each symbol a meaning and a color. We wanted something simple to remember, which is why we went with icons or symbols, and I came up with the triangle-circle-X-square combination immediately afterward. Other game companies at the time assigned alphabet letters or colors to the buttons. Apparently Teiyu Goto, one of the lead designers of the original Playstation, actually had something in mind when creating the square, triangle, circle and X symbols for the buttons, which are apparently not just random well known shapes. Well today I learned something rather interesting, and I thought I’d share it with you. ![]()
